Aside from the obvious (my fam)...I'm sure I'll miss pulling out my telescope in the middle of the night & my wife coming out in the yard at 4am asking me when I'm coming to bed.
I love looking at the stars & galaxies. I often wonder if there's someone on a distant planet with their telescope pointed at us wondering the same thing.
Aside from my family, I will miss the creature comforts of home. A warm shower, my own bed, my own toilet (sorry, just not the same anywhere else)
I miss my cat which I can bring on the road when I get my truck. I miss my car which I l9ve but have had no time to drive it.
I.miss long hot showers whenever I want...
But in response to the cooking comment... my trainers baked cakes.. made stews and even steaks on the truck. the nu wave oven and a crock pot are amazing
I'm going to miss my cat during my training phase. Once I go solo my cat will become a trucker kitty. already been in the process of training her for it, been having her wear a harness during the day, gonna try to get her leash trained as well and also taking her on more car rides. she doesn't like cars at all so trying to get her used to that so she doesn't yowl the whole time.

You'll HAVE to post how they did that and how they used the crock pot and nu-wave oven. I know how to cook in a crock pot, obviously, but I'm interested in how clean up was. And I've never used a nu-wave oven before. I'm concerned with how bumpy a truck can be and having things that might splash or spill, or even tip over.
Nice thing with a crockpot is that the lid is secured in place and there's a gasket, I'm sure it would keep leaks from happening.
Both of mine, the large and smaller one, just have a regular lid that sits on top. I don't have those rubberized lid things for travel, but that would be easy enough to MacGyver with a small bungee cord.
I miss trail running my mountains everyday, my favorite hot yoga place, the plethora of rock climbing options, the beach, saunas, hot tubs, the beautiful women, the insane variety of craft beer I can drink at anytime, excellent food of all sorts, decent paved roads that are fun to skate, the community where everyone is happy, a full kitchen to cook with, being able to do real work outs at a time of my convenience
Annnnnd you know what, It's alright. I'm trucking for the experience. Planned on doing this for only a year and then I'm off to a long indulgent adventure that takes me away from all that wonderful stuff I just mentioned. Apparently it's not that important to me. I'd rather be out and about instead of doing the same things over and over at home. Life's a trip; pack light.
I haven't missed anything i suppose. The extra trucking income has opened me up to different types of hobbies to fill the time that i couldn't afford before. If you're ever at a rest area and see a random TMC driver jump out of his truck with a drone, fly it wildly for 4 minutes, and then drive off that's me. I love variety of food and it's easy to come by on the weekends while trucking. Charliemac ever eat at fogo de chao in indy? Un-believably good food. Maybe it's because the only thing i really left behind was more reliable access to internet for gaming and movies and whatnot, but that didn't bother me as much as i thought it would.
