Ive been looking at some schools in utah to get my cdl..came across these guys..just wondering if trucking truth has herd of them...i know U guys usualy have alot of info on different schools..this one is kida new 2015..

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

I just moved to SLC area last week, and went to talk to recruiter at prospective employer. After meeting up with him he asked me to go check out Black Ribbon. As you mentioned they have only been in biz for a year. They have one truck, one instructor (he has 15+ yr experience). Right now they are running a special $2,495, they are not VA approved so I am not going to earn my CDL thru them.

While I was there, only one guy was in the class so it might be good to get in with them now while they aren't as well known.
