If you screw up, you can easily become your own expert for that situation and it should not happen again. (That means you learned from your mistake!)

This right here. You're going to make mistakes. It's part of the process of learning. But when you do make a mistake, stop and think about what you did wrong and how you should have approached it instead. The key is not whether you make mistakes, it's whether you repeat them
It's only really a mistake if you don't learn from it. "Insanity is doing the same thing ober and over and expecting different results".
No one else is paying your mortgage so who cares what they think. They might shift better or back better but you might trip plan better... so the heck with them.
