Is there certain rules about having a cat in the truck, while the truck is moving? Do you need to harness the cat (or dog)? I'm sure many don't....I'd harness a dog, but a cat might be a bit tricky. They can't really voice it to you when they need to go in their box...lol

Not all companies allow pets. Prime does with $1000 deposit for company drives no deposit for l3ase. I want to being my cat when I get my truck but I have learned from a couple of my classmates to make sure the cat is restrained at truck stops... two got loose and my friends went chasing between the trucks to get them :(

I've heard kittens adjust better than older cats. Which sucks cause I l9ve.my old cat and I hope he can deal.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

My husband and I have talked about taking our cat with us. He is leashed trained thanks to my daughter, but he really doesn't like it. As for a litter box, I have lived in a motor home with a cat and it is not so great. I know my big orange male cat would love going on the road and beating up all the dogs (he has picked fights with dogs, even a saint benard). It would be such a hassle to have to work and walk my cat, change the litter box and cook dinner where my cat craps. No thanks.

It's bad enough to see the pee jug while preparing food.

If I have urine in a bottle, I'll be emptying it as soon as I stop (bringing grocery bags so I can put the bottle in it and walk to the bathroom to empty it) or just empty it in the woods at a rest area. I don't see cat litter being a problem if I clean it every day. I plan on bringing a small hand held vacuum when I get my own truck. I have one in my SUV and it's very useful. Love to keep it clean.

I don't know of any laws for this so unless your company has rules then the answer would be no. From my understand us xpress allows 1 cat or dog and only time it needs to be restrained in a carrier is when you take truck into shop. also us xpress only charges $500 deposit :)

This is funny, my husband made a camping toilet for me. It is a 5 gallon bucket, trash bag, litter and a camping seat for emergencies ( I have used it). I call it my litter box. NEVER thought I would do such a thing, but alas sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I do know you can make a funnel to pee in a jug, haven't tried that yet. On I so look forward to my new career.

Didn't you say you wanted to train eventually? Trainers here are supposed to have pets cause students could be allergic....many do... but it's not allowed

I said "I might". One day at a time. I'm not there yet. :)
