Details...just like any business you lose focus of any detail and everything unravels
I didn't know this was a multiple choice question with only one answer. sorry.gif
LOL ..... It's all in good fun. Sometimes you just need to lighten things up.
There are many traits a driver should have to be a successful, safe, and responsible driver, but I'd trace them all back to patience.
Brett, I did not say they were wrong except jokingly in the first line. 6 String said it better than I did. Some of the answers, like trip planning is a skill not a trait. You can be the best trip planner in the world but if you do not have the patience to execute when something does go wrong, you can find yourself in a place/situation very difficult to get out of.
It was an attempt to get people to think deeper than most do. Thought it may turn on some light bulbs and it did from the responses. This is not just a stare out of a glass box holding a steering wheel type of job as you well know. A trait defines how you react to outside influences. Your habits are formed from these traits.
You do not learn traits, but you can change how that trait causes you to react. Someone that does not have a lot of patience can learn to be more patient but traits are not learned and they never go away.
Not picking on anyone, just using trip planning as an example because it is a good one. Trip planning is something that you learn to do and traits are things you are born with. Some are better than others goes without saying.
You have all run into someone that is obnoxious. That is another trait that can be changed, but as with all traits it is VERY difficult to do. But if that person was to learn to inject some more patience into their behavior it would be a big help. If that doesn't work, there is always duct tape... LOL

Agreed, patience is not just necessary as a trucker, but in life in general. Unfortunately our modern must have it now society does much to discourage many of us from being patient.
I also think humility would rank up there with patience for me. Mix these two with a good helping of crazy, and you have one fine human being! :)
