Great suggestions here.

Just for Liability and Insurance reasons, I would not wave a person to pass. Can you imagine, you wave, he crashes, his dash camera captures you waving?

I can imagine a lawsuit.

Suppose you end up behind a slow driver. It's a two lane rural highway.

The driver sticks his hand out the driver window and makes a scooping motion with his hand, like he's lifting air.

What does he mean?

A. "I've got a heavy load, sorry."

B. "You must have some B*lls!"

C. "Pull over. Let's talk about this, man to man."

D. "I like to do that airplane thing in the wind."

E. "It's OK to pass now!"

F. "There's a Sonic up ahead."

G. "I just sneezed. Ewww!"

My point is, using hand signals between strangers is mostly useless.

Tman put it best, and that's what I'd do, regarding if I'm in my truck, on a motorcycle or driving a semi.....slow down a bit to a safe speed, and increase the distance between you and the driver in front of you.

Just like in motorcycle racing, do NOT worry about other drivers (riders) in the back, it's their responsibility to pass you safely. It's not up to you to "help them" pass you. The only thing you need to worry about is keeping an eye on your mirrors for incoming traffic behind you if they get too close (tailgate), then YOU need to be proactive and make sure you won't end up rear ending the car in front of you if someone runs into you from behind. Trust me, I'm sure the trucker behind you doesn't really want to tear end up you either. If they tailgate, they're being obnoxious and dangerous. And stupid.
