Air leaks of any kind,if dot finds them, is enough to get you placed Out Of Service until its fixed.

I'd say the overall answer to this is "when it's a safety issue." Safety is everything out there. Anytime you see anything that has the potential of being a safety issue you get on it right away.
Some companies are truly picky about how their trucks are kept. So its kinda different company to company. I agree with Brett, if its a safety issue, it has to be fixed asap. But for other things....like your speedo falling into the dash..I'd be calling..only because it will sit there and mash everything else, and could cause a fire. I'd document everything with my dm on qualcom. Then, if they don't send you in for a fix, its on them. Its their truck, after all. But safety is at the top of the list, always.

This truck has put in over 270,000 miles on it..Is only now starting to break down on me. I am parked at a shipper and I am losing air pressure. Now I have contact road assist let them know on what is going on with this truck..I have made a list of this that is breaking down so far I have 6 items..the last one is a crazy one the speedometer fell into the dash board.. lol...
