Hey wait a minute!
I had something else I wanted to say...
I really was logging on to add something to a recent thread, but I'm in agreement with you - we've said it all, and it really seems to serve no purpose. It only seems to make the chosen few who have already decided it's a good idea angry and bitter.
Let's have a clear statement of our stance on it and concentrate on what we do best. I like it!
Well that's good news for me, now I don't have to.... oh nevermind!
Good Morning to everyone! Of course as a lease operator myself some of you may think I would be against this new policy. Well this may shock some but I am all for it! With much consideration I have realized the goals and true value of this website and what it offers new and potential drivers. The burdens of leasing and owning your own business brings so many more obstacles makes it 10 times more likely you won't succeed. My hope is Brett still allows me to post and offer my experience and knowledge as a driver. I've been OTR for over a year now and since I got my rig have accumulated over 143000 miles. I will keep my posts strictly to driver information and general info as well. As I have said in the past I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to the people here and I would hate not giving a bit back.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

Just go ahead and say it Daniel.........I will not spill the beans on you directly.....you will have to do that yourself...

Hey man I follow the rules. No talking about leasing!
Old School, go ahead and say what you were gonna say. That's no problem. And Brian, you can update that thread. We're just not going to fire up any new conversations about it anymore.
We have a ton of great insights and advice in our previous conversations so I'll put all of that together into a comprehensive look at leasing and we'll refer everyone to that.
It only seems to make the chosen few who have already decided it's a good idea angry and bitter.
Yeah, it does. And now that I think about it we should probably limit our conversations on other hot button issues like driver facing cameras. It's not doing anyone any good and it's really not part of our core mission.
That all sounds good. I just hope we don't put Orville Reddenbacher out of business!

I kinda hope we do. We'll be updating our smileys at some point and popcorn will not be one of them.

Hey folks. Guess what? Today is a great day.
It has become obvious that it will serve in everyone's best interest to no longer discuss buying or leasing a truck here in the forum. Our mission at TruckingTruth is to help people understand the trucking industry and prepare for a great start to their career. Leasing or owning a truck will not be one of the challenges facing 99% of our visitors so why burden them with further conversations about it?
But fear not! We already have tons of amazing conversations about leasing here in the forum. In those conversations you'll hear every possible take on the matter from dozens of people and you'll find enough information to create a college course.
I'll be putting together a piece explaining TruckingTruth's official take on leasing. I'll outline some of the major points and then put a link to all of our best conversations on the matter.
So this is great! Things continue to get better around here. In recent months we've put in a long list of safeguards to help keep this place friendly and spam free, and now we're eliminating the most divisive topic we've ever discussed.
I know for a fact I'm going to sleep a lot better knowing we're done with this topic altogether.
