Thanks All. Looks like the 6th gear is the consensus. when i had to came to stop sign that was the gear I had to go in to from a higher gear when I knew 100% that i would be stopping. But I was confused when circumstances suddenly occurred to interruted those steps Light changing to green at the last second, or car pulling out in front of you then accelerating away ahead. or yield signs when you have to slow and give the right away but then things are clear to accelerate and merge,
So 6th gear it is.....sweet
If I'm that close to the line and the light changes to green I just come to a stop pop it in 3rd and go about my business... That 5 seconds you are stopped is not going to matter to anyone...
I know I'm probably overthinking things but I'm kind of a "math geek" analyzer type personality.
I don't believe you're overthinking the shifting thing at all. That's how you get good at something is by learning all of the little nuances about it. I like when people have more technical questions like that. It shows they're taking it seriously and they're focused on the right things.
What I do believe you're worrying too much about is Schneider. Schneider who? Forget about it. That's the best thing you can do. I know from having a math geek type of mind myself that when you can't figure out a logical conclusion to something you'll obsess about it endlessly day and night. Your mind won't let it go until you can make logical sense of it. I do the same thing. But the problem is you're really not sure why they let you go so you're focused on that hard now trying to figure out what happened and why so it doesn't happen again.
Well I totally agree with you that the point of bringing in a student is to train them and I can't imagine you weren't even worth working with. There could very well be things going on behind the scenes there like you mentioned. Maybe they were trying to get the class size down. Maybe that's how they always do things - they cherry pick the people who are a little further along and let the rest go home. I really don't know either. But I know you should do everything in your power to forget about them completely and stay focused on moving forward. Things are going to work out awesome in the end. Don't worry about that.
Old School of course nailed it for getting it back in gear. When you get into a situation where you're rolling slow and you're out of gear just forget about the clutch completely and go for 6th. We're all used to cars having 4 to 6 gears so it sounds like 6th is awfully high when you're only rolling maybe 10 mph but most of the time it goes right in. Just leave the clutch alone and feather the throttle just a bit to get it to drop in.

As old school said, our instructors have us down shift to sixth whenever we're creeping along around 10 mph. I'm still brand new so I have stalled a few times admittedly lol

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
