Thanks for the response. Glad to here your with a better trainer now, I guess it really is the luck of the draw as far as trainers go. I will be going OTR so the paychecks are more of a priority for me than the home time considering I'm single and don't have any kids. I'm sure the whole process will be a big culture shock for me and quite overwhelming at times but I guess its all about taking the good with the bad one day at a time. Keep me posted on how things are going for you. Maybe I'll see you at The Rock when you test out and get your own truck.

If all goes right I'm hoping to be back around the 12th. Hoping.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

Are able to transfer from the temp control to the glass division? Is the process difficult?

Tyler, I remember in a previous thread you had mentioned in a reply to someone. "If all goes well for me at orientation and the company offers me a position, I will be hauling dedicated out of PA. For me I was told it will be a 500-600 mile radius of Carlisle including possibly to Canada". Can you elaborate a little more on this please. Is this for Maverick and do they have a yard in Carlisle Pa? I didn't see anything online for them in the Pa area as far as yards go. Only for hiring locations. Unless they are one in the same?

Sorry been busy. Ppg is located in Carlisle, technically Mt Holly Springs. Maverick hauls out of there and occasionally will have a opening for a dedicated position. Dedicated is home weekends and occasionally a night or two during the week. All loads are preloaded so all you do is hook up and tie down and go.

And infonyou can give id welcomed I'm a big guy 6-1 300 lbs with a cpap. Thanks in advanced guys

CDL:

Hey man welcome aboard. I'm with maverick currently. I'll be up for a min, gotta head out early. Maverick is a great company, not perfect of course but I'm doing well here. I've been to the Wey Mills hundreds of millions of times lol we haul for them a lot. That would likely get you home loads. One thing I'll mention though, and please don't take it the wrong way. You're a big guy, so you may have some challenges that I didn't as far as taping goes. You'll have to hop up on these lumber loads occasionally and they can get pretty high. Also the maverick physical requires you to climb up a pretend load during orientation. Don't be discouraged though, saw a guy who easily weighed 450 or so do it.

I don't get discouraged I'm pretty limber and surprise most people and they make step ladders that fold up for a reason. How are there trucks setup? They have internal power in them for like a cpap machine

Yea they should be good to go for cpap. My roommate had one in training. I think you're required to use it most of the time. I don't know all the details about sleep apnea but I'm sure you're more familiar with all that than I am. We have inverters, a few outlets, newer trucks have fridges. The older ones have the room for one if u want to buy one

Sleep Apnea:

A physical disorder in which you have pauses in your breathing, or take shallow breaths, during sleep. These pauses can last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. Normal breathing will usually resume, sometimes with a loud choking sound or snort.

In obstructive sleep apnea, your airways become blocked or collapse during sleep, causing the pauses and shallow breathing.

It is a chronic condition that will require ongoing management. It affects about 18 million people in the U.S.

Are the truck automatics I've heard they were . And yea all the cpap needs is a inventor. And sounds like a great company just comes down to which one has the best route available and home time
