Hello Art, Hope all is well, you've found a great web site! I just finished orientation for Schneider van in Atlanta. It was a great experience, great training engineer. Now have own truck and leave in morning for first delivery. Attitude is everything and as long as your listening and showing improvement all is well. Also dress for success, proper foot wear is a big thing with SNI. Good luck and wish you well.

I found this in the archives and ,choosing Schneider myself, hoping Schneider chooses me. I think it holds good info to be brought back to the current conversation. Pearls of wisdom are buried in the past.

Art...I would suggest that you go with what your recruiter sez. Run those dry boxes and reefers...it'll get you to the Pacific North West !!! Not so sure about tanker. AND...winter is upon us...you really don't wann be learning tanker in the ice and snow...trust me. You have years to do that...just concentrate on learning how to handle a truck and trailer....take it a step at a time.... Tankers are tricky...I don't care who ya are. I've driven 48 ft water tanker with no baffle , and a dump plate for a spreader...they slosh front to back, side to side...and can get scarey...Take your dry van and be glad that you aren't out in the weather pullin' hoses and fiddlin' with frozen valves... Learn thru the winter...then if ya wanna tank it...go for it...
