I don't mind waiting really...can't go anywhere once my 70 is low anyways. The most irritating thing so far is when 4-wheelers (especially pickups--they seem to think they are trucks for some reason) park in truck parking spots. Nothing more irritating when that's the only spot left!
oh god dude you nailed it! when I see that I immediately feel violent haha
For me, the worst thing about the trucking industry, is that every time I go to buy new pajamas, they are more times than not sold out of my size.
I prefer the ones with Tigger, but they can be almost impossible to find. I hate to buy my clothes mail order, but I am starting to consider that option.
Trucking is the only industry I have ever worked in, where I can wear my pajamas to work, but a new pair can sometimes be rare as hens teeth.
Worst thing black ice/snow and having to chain up. My Volvo has super singles and the chains are over half my body weight Yuk!
A single, wide wheel substituted for a tandem (two wheel) assembly. The main benefit of a super single is a reduction in weight and lower rolling resistance which provide better fuel economy. The disadvantage is the lack of tire redundancy (or a 'backup tire' in case of a blowout) from which tandem wheels benefit. A tire blowout is more dangerous with a super single and can not be driven on.

Dutch, you're cracking me up man!
I seem to remember you once posting that you more preferred the Hugh Hefner look for your pajamas, so I'm assuming the whole silk bath robe look with the Tigger motif is pretty difficult to find.
The worst thing for me just so happens to be one of the best things. Its the ever changing conditions. Whether it be going from country driving to city, to mountain. Or changes in weather. Or to the crazy drivers out there, it can be hard to keep up with everything that can change when driving a truck. However it's those changes that keep the job fresh and exciting and always keep you on your toes.

Old School, they are actually two different attires for separate occasions.
As you know, most of the folks who work in shipping and receiving usually dress casual, and I was starting to feel like I was upstaging them to a certain extent. Kinda like showing up to a beach party in a tuxedo, if you will.
So one day, I was all out of silk pajamas because I hadn't had a chance to do laundry, and I was forced to wear my Tigger PJ's instead. I can't tell you how many positive responses I got, especially from the females. I even had one big burly guy with full sleeve tats comment that he used to have a pair just like mine, with the booties built in. I explained to him that they didn't make Tigger pajamas with steel toes yet or I would already have a pair.
Nowdays, I save the silk PJ's for important functions like safety meetings, holiday gatherings, and award ceremonies, and my Tigger PJ's are my "go to's!"
Operating While Intoxicated
If you are hauling bananas from Port Jersey or Port Elizabeth count on waiting most of the day, though I haven't hauled a load of bananas off the dock there or even from an East River pier for 30 years. After you get loaded count on running like a bat out of h*ll too before anything goes wrong too. I wish that I could be more optimistic but no I can't. The less number of banana loads you haul the better.
