Good morning, I wouldn't think it would be problem as long as you got a doctors clearance. I would call my recruiter just to make sure. No sense in going to orientation if your just going need to turn around and go home.
If TMC re-tests - then you may have to explain your blood situation to their doctor again.
Might be helpful to get a note from the urologist that examined you - just to CYA.
The DOT urine test does look for blood, protein & sugar (as well as the pre-employment drug screen).
When trying to explain something at a company physical, it's always better to have your documentation ON HAND, than trying to get ahold of it long distance. This applies to other medical conditions that may come up (or be answered in the affirmative on the "Long Form" you fill out before the exam).
Easier to being any doctors letters WITH YOU, than risk having something hold you up while you're trying to get them.
I scan copies of all my stuff and put it up in my cloud account - so I can get to it anywhere I might need it.

As a general FYI it's a common occurrence for a truck driver to have slight traces of blood in their urine. According to my doc it's usually no cause for concern.
I had this occur once about two years ago, had to take additional tests to rule out a specific cause. They found nothing. It did not prevent me from getting the medical card renewed.
Thanks for the replies. I will get my records and take pics so they are in the cloud. That's a great idea. Thank you. G, that is exactly how it went for me. Doc said some people have a trace and it's no cause for concern.
That exact thing happened to me with blood in the urine. and Schneiders Doctors told me to have it checked out immediatley. he said it could be kidney stones or bladder cancer among other things. So i am making an appointment to find out. I hope it is just a false positive. Also it did not have any effect on my passing the DOT urinalisis test.

Did they send you home?

Hello all! I have a medical question and hopefully someone can give me some insight. I have traces of blood in my urine. About three years ago I was really sick and the doctor ordered a urinalysis and blood work. They found blood in my urine and he suggested going to urologist for further testing. I got the whole camera up my you kno what and everything looked good and he told me that some people just have traces of blood in their urine and it's nothing to worry about. I got my DOT med card no problem. Doc was satisfied with what I told him I guess. I'm headed to TMC next week and just wondering if they are gonna hassle me about the blood in my urine.
