If you need a cpap , they will install an inverter. No appliances are allowed but as long as you don't leave them connected when the truck goes into the shop you'll be fine. Oh, and don't set the truck on fire or be killing batteries either.

CPAP:

Constant Positive Airway Pressure

CPAP is a breathing assist device which is worn over the mouth or nose. It provides nighttime relief for individuals who suffer from Sleep Apnea.

Can I use a solar power? At my expense of course, I am currently a mechanic so as far as nicely hiding any wires etc. No worries, but don't want to "rock the boat"

Look at the 12 volt RoadPro lunch box oven. Also a single burner butane stove. Got my butane stove at Walmart. To keep your food cold, 12 volt iceless cooler. You really don't need 120 volt appliances to cook on the road. The maximum wattage for a cigarette lighter power inverter is about 150 watts. Enough for a small tv, laptop, etc. It will not come close to powering a microwave or refrigerator.

Can you clarify this? Does that include GPS?

A GPS plugs into a 12 volt power outlet. You can use anything that runs on 12 volts. There are no inverters or apu's to run appliances that run on 120 volt household current. Google 12volt appliances for truckers. You will see all that is available

APU:

Auxiliary Power Unit

On tractor trailers, and APU is a small diesel engine that powers a heat and air conditioning unit while charging the truck's main batteries at the same time. This allows the driver to remain comfortable in the cab and have access to electric power without running the main truck engine.

Having an APU helps save money in fuel costs and saves wear and tear on the main engine, though they tend to be expensive to install and maintain. Therefore only a very small percentage of the trucks on the road today come equipped with an APU.
