Completed orientation with Werner Enterprises today, now just hanging out at the Hotel in Phoenix, AZ waiting for a Trainer/Mentor to become available. Looking forward to getting back on the road to get this training/mentoring section done. Hope you all are having a great Labor day weekend. Mark

Mark, that's great. Where did you get your CDL Training done. Private school or Werner. I never looked into them. Didn't know they were out of Phx. Good luck on the road and hope you get a good trainer. Be safe out there.

Thanks Andy, I appreciate. I did my CDL training in Yuma, AZ. Yuma Truck Driving School. Werner Enterprises Home is actually in Omaha Nebraska. We just did our orientation at the Phoenix Terminal due to it being the closest to my home. Good luck to you. Mark

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Mark, the Werner terminal in Omaha looks really nice. Giant brick building.

And ill be in Pheonix, AZ 9/2/13 around afternoon time. I have four deliveries in the Pheonix area on the 3rd. Nice to know we will be in the same city haha!

Hey Dan, yeah I have heard it is pretty nice. I am sure I will see it one of these weeks. Phoenix is alright, the Hotel they have us at is in a pretty sketchy part of town. lol, probably wasn't the best planning on my part to do Orientation on a Holiday weekend. I do have a roommate that also drives for Werner so I have been getting a ton of tips. Yeah I will definitely be here tomorrow. Safe travels to ya.

Sounds great Mark! This industry will test your patience constantly so just try your best to relax, enjoy the peace and quiet, and you'll be on the road before ya know it.

Let us know how things go once you get out there!

Thanks Brett, I will definitely do an update soon. Yeah, my roommate at the Hotel is from Werner and he is waiting for his Truck to get a new Transmission. He is pretty new with Werner also and he said the same about being patient. We're hanging out and making the best of it. I have also got a bunch of their Computer Based Trainings done also so it hasn't been completely unproductive. Thanks again Brett for this awesome site. Mark

Mark, be glad you guys are in a hotel right now and not in a big rig. The truck stops in Pheonix are slammed right now. Just went to the flying J and not a single spot open at 1pm. Got one of the remaining few spots at the Pilot. Of course they left the bad spots so that wasn't an easy backing haha.

They didn't leave you a bad spot, just a practice opportunity! smile.gif

Haha! I do my practice on docks. Less risks I take the better off I am. It's so easy to get into an accident at a truck stop so I'm extremely cautious in them. I'm not a person to do a tight backing at the front of the lot, id rather park in an easy spot and have to walk an extra 30 feet.
