Congratulations, Kris. It's tomorrow and they make you wait till 5pm? That's torture!
Are you solo with a day cab? Being your first day, maybe an hour and a half early so you can get you're truck checked out, papers signed, all that.
If you are getting an OTR tractor with a sleeper, you'll need all afternoon to get moved in.
At any rate, it's your first day. Go in early so you can play with your new toy. Take photos to put on Facebook/Twitter, get your stuff out into all the little cubby holes, etc. Enjoy your day!
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
A tractor which does not have a sleeper berth attached to it. Normally used for local routes where drivers go home every night.
Thanks Errol V. Yes it is a sleeper. i had the truck in for a PM and they put all new tires on it. I had to go into the Qualcom and edit the hours on it. It had me on duty for the last 8 days lol. I was minus 100 something hours i got it updated. They could not fix my seat it moves an inch or so back and forth they have to order the parts.
I still forget hitting the QC sometimes.
Remember the sleeper bed lifts up and you can store some stuff in there.
Thanks Errol, I was looking at that lever on the front of the sleeper but was not sure what it did. i appreciate your help.

Terminal:
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
