Wow. You have to pay for their locks? 130 bucks for 3? Is that with all the companies or just Prime?

I am pretty sure that's for all companies.
John when you pay for them they become yours, and these companies have discoveredthat you will take care of and keep up with something that's yours better than if they just handed it out. Plus you now know that if you lose it they aren't giving you another without you buying it.

...and they've discovered it costs them less when they make someone else pay for it. It's a sound business strategy

Not to mention they are pretty high grade locks so far as I have heard which means your probably geting a decent discount on them.
So once you make the initial investment you take them with you wherever you go and never have to buy another set again. I gotcha. Just some of the tools that go along with the trade like a tire gauge.
Learning as I go.
Central offers a trailer kingpin lock. And a trailer door lock. They don't force it but they do encourage it. It costs 100$ taken out in payments of 10$. When you return it they refund you the money back, but only if you return it in working condition and with both copies of the keys.
To the people wondering whether or not to get your permit:
I feel it's better to get it and get that part out of the way. You get to spend a little bit of time training and doing some computer-based training. BUT you should check with your state to see if there are any weird rules or regulations that are in effect.
As far as right now, I'm a student driver getting ready to head out with my trainer for CDL test training. Really excited!

PS. In case the last post was misleading there at the end, I have no intention of walking away. I think I have tar for veins, asphalt for bones, and diesel for blood.
Wow! Great reporting on what to expect. Loved it. I am waiting to hear from the recruiter for my acceptance. I am studying for the permit using the training here. It's not all new to me because years ago I had my Class B CDL with Passenger and Air Brakes Endorsements. I am communicating with the recruiter on this to avoid any conflicts like you wrote about. I can just be all studied up and ready to test when I get there.
I have definitely learned some things that I know will help me in preparing to go and for when I get there. I will be printing out your blow by blows so I can be the wiser beforehand at each turn of the training. I am very encouraged at the overall assessment of Prime too.
Thank you and hope all is well with you!

do yourself a favor and have it before you go, from what ive gathered from his post he was in between getting his hard copy and paper copy, and not every state requires a cdl physical to get a permit, I guess Georgia is just odd.you literally get a head start and have more free time while there waiting to be accepted.
