Best thing to do - when you get your assigned truck, is to treat all the glass with RainX.

Use a dish soap and razor blade scraper to make sure the glass is really clean (careful not to scratch with the scraper). Rinse the glass well, dry it - and then apply 2 coats of the RainX, following the instructions. Install new wiper blades at the same time.

I RainX all the glass on my personal vehicles. I also use the RainX bug wash - though that could get costly as much as you would go through in a truck. RainX also makes a washer additive, that you throw a few ounces in every time you fill with water of less expensive bug wash. Most bug wash is simply water and methanol anyway (with coloring, and some other additives).

I also use RainX Latitude wiper blades of my personal rides. Keeping fresh blades on your truck will also assist in keeping your windshield cleaner. Company pays for them anyways. As soon as they start to drag or chatter - replace them.

I use regular Windex and then wipe it with a Clorox disinfectant wipes.

The two compounds keep the bugs from sticking when they dry after a splat and helps beads rain drops away.

Makes cleaning easier. Both are readily available on the road.

A good rain shower is the best windshield cleaner I've ever experienced. Pray for rain!

You beat me to it. Rain is the best bug cleaner. Just find a thunderstorm

Fire Marshal Bill recommends:

I use regular Windex and then wipe it with a Clorox disinfectant wipes.

Windex has ammonia in it, Clorox has chlorine. If you mix those two chemicals together you get chloramine, a nasty poison*.

Using spray Windex then chlorine wipes probably won't hurt, but don't get any ideas of putting those two chemicals together.

* My mom did that once and cleaned the bathroom. She was in bed sick for two days.

I use a mixture of vinegar and water which seems to work well...and it is cheap to make.
