I recently got my CDL and i am looking for companies that hire new drivers in Toronto area. I am 20 years old. I can only drive in Canada, because minimum age for USA is 21 years old.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

You can drive intrastate within the state you are licensed in.

Intrastate:

The act of purchasers and sellers transacting business while keeping all transactions in a single state, without crossing state lines to do so.

Mr A; you'll find that most people that post and lurk here are USA based drivers, so knowing the ins and outs of Ontario based trucking is going to be a stretch. Off the top of my head you could try ERB (Another Cool Move), Total Logistics Trucking, and Maritime-Ontario.

If you just got a AZ license, why isn't your school helping you with placement?
