I am concerned about hygiene while driving OTR. I like to brush my teeth and floss twice a day. Sometimes brushing 3 times a day. I also like to shower twice a day. How do truckers do that on the road? The truckers normal routine seems to brush/floss once a day and shower once every two days. I like being clean and enjoy staying clean.

How do truckers maintain hygiene while driving so many hours?

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

Proper planning! I am like you. I love 2 baths a day. Unfortunately that's not realistic unless you wanna pay $13 a day. I shower everyday for free due to shower credits (every 50 gallons of fuel gets a free credit). You can brush your teeth whenever you like or stop. Its possible to maintain a fresh self:)

Brushing your teeth three times in a day isn't difficult. And flossing you can do while driving.

However, I think it's pretty much impossible to shower twice a day. You won't even have enough shower credits to support that so expect to be paying most of the time. I would plan on just one shower a day.

At least I will get a shower once a day. But brushing my teeth and flossing twice a day is mandatory. No exceptions. I don't compromise hygiene for nothing.

Thanks everyone.

Floss while steering with your knee?

No, buy those floss picks. The ones that are plastic and have an inch of string for you to floss with. Those are used with one hand not two hands like the typical box of rolled up string.

There's a product that I believe is called "no-rinse" and is marketed to truckers campers and the like that makes a quick wash do-able. also gold bond medicated powder can halp keep you fresh on those no shower days.

That's funny my wife calls it a trucker's bath. She always wants to know if I took a shower or a trucker's bath when we talk on the phone.
