I attended a company sponsored school as did many others on this forum. For me it was the right decision. There are also numerous success stories of drivers on this forum who attended a private school. It all depends on what you want, if you can afford the out-of-pocket cost for a private school and/or if you are willing to commit to a company for a set period of time. There are pros and cons for each choice. Community College schools might also be an option to research.

OOS:
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
I would recommend looking into your states WIA grants. In Missouri they not only pay for unemployed folks but also for adult continuing education. Check with your local unemployment office. If they don't know the criteria they will be able to point you in the right direction!
I used a WIA grant to pay for my private school and they also paid my licensing fees, my physical and I got reimbursement for the gas to drive to and from school every day.
If you do opt for Roadmaster, make sure you get prehires for companies with tuition reimbursement that also hire out of Roadmaster.
I went to Werner straight out of Roadmaster and Werner pays $100 per month on my loans and I pay $24 per month. Plus Werner paid an extra $750 to then at the 6 month and year marks. And that would be for each of you.
I'm sure other companies have similar reimbursements available, I just don't know any details for anywhere else.

The trucking companies are saying in writing that the student, or potential student, appears to meet the company's minimum hiring requirements and is welcome to attend their orientation at the company’s expense once he or she graduates from truck driving school and has their CDL in hand.

A Pre-Hire Letter Is Not A Guarantee Of Employment
The people that receive a pre-hire letter are people who meet the company's minimum hiring requirements, but it is not an employment contract. It is an invitation to orientation, and the orientation itself is a prerequisite to employment.
During the orientation you will get a physical, drug screen, and background check done. These and other qualifications must be met before someone in orientation is officially hired.

Does anyone know anything about the cdl school offered by CRST? My fiance and I are going in to team trucking. We were thinking about Roadmasters, but that's going to cost 15,000 for both of us. She's worried that a sponsored program will not take the time and be patient with her if she needs it. I don't want to take on the debt if we can help it, but we will if its going to be a better learning experience. I've read a ton of info under the training topic on TT. If anyone has had a good experience with a sponsored program we would love to hear about that too. Thank you guys in advance, y'all are a big help for a hopeful new trucker team!
