Discrimination? Maybe.
I was a road manager for bands for a number of years. Sober the whole time - job description: Designated Adult.
So yes - 2 or 3 DUI convictions, are likely going to be LIFETIME DISQUALIFICATION from obtaining a CDL.

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
The CSA is a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) initiative to improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities that are related to commercial motor vehicle
The FMCSA was established within the Department of Transportation on January 1, 2000. Their primary mission is to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries.
What Does The FMCSA Do?
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

I believe 2 is a lifetime disqualification to obtain a CDL. Not sure if there is a timeframe, but I don't think so.

Call your local DMV and ask them about the legalities of obtaining a CDL with three DWIs in your state. I have found them to be helpful at answering any questions I have regarding laws, regs, and procedures.

Doe's kinda suck, what you do young & dumb, haunts you later! Sheesh I had 2 in 1980 when I was 19 (36 years now) I never drank & drove, pretty much after the 2nd one cost me 15 months of drunk classes, AA meetings, and the end fine.....Now it's been heck 10 years since any beer and I dont miss it lol...1st,I was lucky I didn't kill someone . w/ a .24 BAC, 2nd barely blew a .10 BAC, since I had a beer in the car, cop smelt it duhhhh me.
Good Luck Daniel
I don't think it has anything to do with the companies. I think it's a federal law. Two or more DUIs will ban you from getting a CDL for life.

DUI's does not ban you from getting a cdl. If you have a valid driver's license for a year, you can get a cdl. However, most companies will not hire you with multiple DUI's
