I'll be 56 this year and I'm calling it quits on a 30 or so year career as a CNC machine shop manager / manufacturing engineer. I spent 24+ years with the same company and my last main employer. I'm actually pretty well setup for retirement but I'm not ready to roll over just yet. I spent 3 1/2 years in the oil fields of MT, WY, UT, ND and Canada drilling test holes on a seismograph crew before that, so I know what a somewhat nomadic lifestyle entails. It was also one of the most enjoyable times of my entire life, man did we have some fun and see some of the most beautiful back country there is / was. I used to have a bumper sticker on my personal '72 Chevy Blazer 4X4 that read, "Please don't tell my mom I work in the oil fields, she still thinks I'm a piano player in a ***** house". LOL!

Welcome to the forum Terry. I started when I was 54. If you are healthy, age is not a factor.

Thanks for the welcome and a boost to the old confidence. I was worried about the age thing but sounds like thats not an issue. Good to know as I go forward. Again thanks and look forward to reading more on this forum.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
