Congrats, I hope in the near future I can share the experience.
That's terrific! Before you know it, the soreness will turn into strength. My HS wrestling coach used to tell me as we were strength training, "Pain is weakness leaving the body."
It won't last, but your definition & tone will (as long as you keep it up)!
Lynn, May I suggest that you start a training diary on this site. That is what I intend to do. Click on the Truckers Forum tab, And scroll to CDL Training Diaries. I for one, really enjoy reading them. Sometimes it gets hard to keep up with them in the General Discussion area. Thanks, and I look forward to keeping up with your adventures.

Went through school, passed my test, started training yesterday. First day on the job was a shuttle run, drop and hooks. She drove up there the first time, then I did everything else after, with some guidance with backing (with the trailer). Got a day off. Tomorrow we go to the Bronx. I am a little nervous, but excited too. So glad I got a day off, my muscles are sore from all the cluthing (I am learning to float, it is just hard learning in a new truck and not being allowed during training). Also going up and down the tractor and the cat walk. Love that landing gear too, not!
Drop And Hook:
Drop and hook means the driver will drop one trailer and hook to another one.
In order to speed up the pickup and delivery process a driver may be instructed to drop their empty trailer and hook to one that is already loaded, or drop their loaded trailer and hook to one that is already empty. That way the driver will not have to wait for a trailer to be loaded or unloaded.
