Just wait until you get there in February, might see 50 below wind chill. I've only been to Calif on 40 then north on 5. East on 70 Dayton Ohio then 75 south to 95 to Homestead. Only in a 4 wheel. Should be different in a big rig! Have fun but stay safe, and keep us posted!

So I had an emotional breakdown in Nebraska simply because I am so tired and missing my husband. We talked on the phone for a little while and it was just rough.

I started driving again and was ok but then I got to Colorado! Whoa! Absolutely beautiful with an incredible sunset! It just reminded me how blessed I am that I get to do this for a living. I feel a lot better now just exhausted. Time to sleep!

This is the part in trucking that is rough. I can't count how many times i've had tears in my eyes missing my family and bed. Become friends with Skype.. It may not be the real thing, but have a moment to see your family helps. I use to skype them and share the road as well, i'd set my cam to see the road so they could see what I saw while talking.. Was almost like them being in cab with me.

This is the part in trucking that is the best.. Getting to see the beautiful country side and get paid to see it! Im not sure which way your going to get to CA, but if its up and over the Rockies, your in for a WONDERFUL supprise.. I took a 34 hr restart up there once and went skiing. Talk about a blast, then the drive through to Grand Junction, CO was supper awesome..

My advice is to sleep when you can. And don't be afraid to ask your trainer to take over if you get to tired. Thats what they are there for.. Mine wouldnt let me drive over 7hrs for the first 2-3 days..

looking forward to following your story more

Hey girl, that emotional stuff is perfectly normal - we've all been there. That is why we encourage folks to hang in there during training. So many people throw in the towel at the first few difficulties - Don't Do It!

There's such a toxic mix of adrenaline, excitement, and emotions going on during that initial two or three months that it can leave your head spinning.

Never make a major decision when you're feeling overwhelmed, it will almost always be a poor decision. Hang tough and things will become clear - then you can decide on how to proceed.

I woke up in Richfield Utah this morning. The mountains. Oh man the mountains! I took a bunch of pictures to send home and I wish I had my laptop to share them here but they are so beautiful! It's my turn to drive and I'm a little nervous about the mountain driving... My trainer tried to get as far as she could through them but there is still some left.

I'm feeling a lot better today emotionally. Slept good last night and had a good talk with my husband this morning so I'm ready to tackle this day!

Dont stress on the mountain driving.. Its actually a lot easier then you think. Take your time, and remember not to shift while going down hill and use that Jake/Engine brake! Generally I make sure to be 1 gear lower then I used to get up the mountain. So if I went up in 8th, i'd go down in 7th with Engine Brake on. Should never have to touch your brakes :)

We just arrived in LA at our receiver. Omg I never want to come back here again! You California people are nutso drivers! But I did it, slowly!

But I accomplished a lot today! City driving (Las Vegas and LA), mountain driving in Utah, Arizona and California, driving in the rain and in the wind.

And I get to cross something off my bucket list: see the sunset in California!

I hurt from head to toe from tension and stress but at least I get to sleep in a non moving truck tonight! Our appointment isn't until 6 am so we get to sleep tonight.

Ok we are waiting in our door to be unloaded. This place is nuts. Check in starts at 6 so I went and waited in line for an hour to get a door. I didn't even try to do this backing because this yard is so strange. Even my trainer had a little trouble with this one. Broke the seal, got the packing slip and went in to get the lumpers to unload. Now we are waiting. The joys of pulling a reefer...

We were supposed to have another drop at 0900 10 miles away but we are not going to make it!
