Hello Carla, and welcome to the forum!
Hey, I'm gonna give you a few links to check out for some information that should help you in your research into getting started in this new career, but first let me just give you a little heads up about trucking schools. I think for the most part they are equal, and what I mean by that is that they are not really what most people think of when they think of going to school for a career. Rather, they are a means to an end, and that end is the obtaining of a Commercial Drivers License. You really won't learn to be a successful truck driver at a truck driving school, in fact you will be nearly complete with your first rookie year as a truck driver before you begin to act and conduct yourself like a professional driver. It just takes a good amount of time to get where you are proficient at this stuff. What happens after truck driving school is that once you get a job you will be paired up with a trainer who will then try to scratch the surface of this career with you just a little deeper. Trucking schools will help you get licensed and that is just about it. From there you will go with a trainer for about four or five weeks, and then you will start as a solo driver, but believe me you will still be learning tons of stuff everyday, and most of it will be through trial and error! There is a steep learning curve to this career at the beginning and most of that is absorbed during your first year of gainful employment.
