Hey folks. I just wanted to let everyone know we've now put together two new help videos for our forum.

The first video describes the various categories you will find here. The second video gives a rundown of the various features available when posting a comment including bold, italic, underline, quotes, links, photos, smileys, and notifications.

So check out the videos! You can find them at the bottom of the forum homepage:

So that's how the "Preview" function works...I never knew because no one ever uses it!

Hey Brett, those are a really cool addition to the forum!

I've been meaning to check these out, but just haven't had any spare time lately. I got the chance this morning, and I'm impressed! Sometimes those of us familiar with the features in here take it for granted and move around in here freely without any problems or questions, but for new members those videos should help them get up to speed on how to access and use some of the many features that are in here. Those features really enhance the look of our pages, and that along with good content is important in any forum's format.

Thanks a lot man - another great improvement!

Hey, there's one thing I noticed that you didn't mention on the quote button. You talked about typing in between the brackets, but I have always copied and pasted quotes in there - it is much quicker and easier, and you get the exact quote that way without making an error. No big deal, I just noticed it because I've always done it that way.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Excellent point. I'm adding that to the list for my next video. I'm going to do one on "advanced features and navigation" and using the "Quote" button will be part of that one. I'll remember to add the copy/paste idea to it.

I'm also going to do a ton of videos for across the website to help people better understand what we have in each section. Like the High Road has a few features that make it extremely effective but also incredibly frustrating if you don't understand how it works. Our job application system actually has a few options to choose from that could use a little explanation. And there are several others.

I was also thinking about going to one of the local truck driving schools to get some footage so people can see what a typical day in training is really like and maybe get them to do a pre-trip video for us while I'm there.

I just started dabbling with the whole film/screencast/photography thing so we'll see if I can put some helpful stuff together.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Thanks for this site Brett, everything has been very helpful. Also, everyone has been great with their advice and has made it an easier decision for me to make this industry my new career. I can't wait to get started on the 25th.
