Well we figured out why there weren't any truck stops! Because my stupid GPS wanted me to take this crazy road through Arkansas up and down mountains with 20 mph switchbacks! Omg that was terrifying! Never ever again will I take that road..

Well, you'll get more driving experience, and after a bit it won't be so bad ... unless it snows ... at night ... with 39,000 pounds behind you!

Chickie, If you don"t have one yet, get a Rand McNally Motor Carriers Atlas. Don't rely on that GPS 100%. Use it as a tool but ALWAYS double check it with the Atlas

I use company supplied gps, however I always look at my atlas and the company route suggestion and compare with the gps and hand write the route for backup. Because every now and then the gps will try to route me on a newly truck restricted road.

Incidentally I have trucker path, but my gps will also locate truck stops and rest areas, and weigh stations. Cool when u figure out what all company provided gps can do.

I'm guessing you are in Clarksville, did the gps send you up 7 or 23 maybe 123 to 7. All those are not truck friendly. From Clarksville go west to 49 up to Joplin. Then follow your gps.
