BTW M Girl, as tempting as it may be, DO NOT CARRY. It is not worth the trouble it could cause you. I live in AZ and have carried most of my adult life (Legally). I will not carry as a driver as much as I would like too. Just my $.02

Hit them w the mag lite. That's why cops always have hem properly "aimed" while reading your license etc. I would always park as far away from the truck stop building for walking purposes(exercise) and being a noob backing etc. Had to smack a knee cap once w my mag lite...done deal! Still carry it (batteries dead for years) in my four wheeler.

When your brakes are set and your airbags bleed off it can cause the truck to lurch as a trailer will push forward and when the brakes slip a little it will cause that.

This has scared the living crap out of me more than once.lol

Someone here once recommended keeping wasp spray -- shoots 20 feet or more. Someone else said to put ammonia in a squirt gun.

My trainer bought me a little pink tazer which is both hilarious & comforting to a cute little feller like me. I would have thought that it counts as a concealed weapon but he insists it doesn't.

I second this. I've had odd gusts come up on an otherwise still night that rock the truck so violently it feels like someone hit you.

Be careful, especially back east. They're banned in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

I know there are a few states that allow you to "Stand Your Ground" which is legal to carry with no permit, and I know here in IA if you get both the IA/UT permit you can carry in 40 states legally.... its mainly the companies that don't allow carrying on the trucks....

Oh boy, the old carry question. All I will say about that is go to the NRA website and the DOT website to learn all the ins and outs of what you can and cannot do.

Stand your ground doesn't have a thing to do with whether or not you have a carry permit. It's a clause allowing you to protect yourself or a third party victim in the event of a life threatening situation.

Tazers violate weapons laws in several states and are viewed in the same light as a firearm.

The real issue is if you have a firearm and you use it, you better be ready for the repercussions.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

THAT'S it!

Pat, I KNEW you'd have an explanation for this. I had a feeling it was a mechanical issue.

I'm just going to shoot the trailer.
