Hey folks, because so many people are against driver-facing cameras we're going to start a topic in our wiki which lists the companies that have driver-facing cameras or are beginning to test or install them in the trucks. So I'd like to find out from you guys which companies have them already or are beginning to test or install them.
I realize many people have strong opinions about this topic but we're not going to be discussing the ethics of it here. We just want people to know which companies have them so they can decide for themselves which jobs they would like to pursue.
Thanks!
I hear Swift does now. Someone from them can confirm.
I'll confirm if GTI does, last year they did not. I'll be back at them Monday
Knight Transportation does not.
Thanks for the feedback so far you guys!
And we'd also like to know if a company is doing any testing of these cameras. We'll keep people updated about each company and where they're at in the process - testing, partial fleet, or full fleet.
Affirmative on Swift. Most tractors have the cameras installed and active.
Werner does not and while I haven't heard that they are planning it, I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't at least thinking about it.
Boyd uses them, pretty sure Trans Am does for company drivers and I'm surprised Prime doesn't to be honest because they seem to throw everything else you can possibly put on a truck safety or fuel related on their trucks.
My older Swift tractor had one. The newer tractor I drive now does not. So I would suggest partial fleet for now.
Millis has them, not sure in all trucks though.
