Good Morning TT Family,

I am heading up to Phoenix this afternoon. Start at the Swift Academy on Monday morning. Lots of nervous excitement, but can't wait to get this ball rolling. I will chronicle all of my adventures here on Trucking Truth. Hey Errol and G town, I was planning on Private messaging each of you as I value your advice and experience w/ Swift. Was hoping to trade Email addresses/Phone numbers. Looks like I missed that boat by several days. Maybe Brett can work something out.

Thanks to ALL

Woot woot congrats! I still remember when I packed my bags and left for school. I wondered when it was gonna hit that I was REALLY doing this. For me, it didn't hit until I completely finished all training and mentoring. So far, I think the Phoenix terminal might be my favorite. It's huge, nice, and that Jake Break Cafe is super good.

Good luck and keep us posted!!

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Tractor man good luck in Phoenix they have a real nice facility out there. You've become one of my favorite new drivers on TT and you haven't even started yet.

Thanks Guys, That is good to know. The reason I picked Phoenix is that it is 2 hours North of my Home in Tucson. I'm hoping that will make it a bit easier to get home every 3-4 weeks for a couple of days! Paul, one of my best Friends is from Greely, he built custom homes there for 20 years. He said it smells like CATTLE! shocked.pngrofl-3.gif

Tractor man. No need to PM, just post your training diary in the Diaries forum. (That's the whole idea in posting your experiences.)

Or "PM" me at TT.errolv@spamgourmet.com

Thanks Errol, I will definately post a diary on TT. If I need to tap into the deep dark crevices of your OLD number crunching brain, I'll sent you an email at the above address. I am on my way to spamgourmet.com to set up an acct.

Haha yes it does, but it's not as bad as people say. I always get really excited when I meet somebody out here who knows where Greeley is!smile.gif

He told me that people would ask him about "That smell", and he would say "What smell". Told me he lived there for 40 years and couldn't smell a thing, you get used to it. His Company was "Royal Custom Homes".

I'll look it up! I just moved there five years ago so he probably left before I arrived.

Yeah the only time I smell anything is when I'm on my way into town. Who knows, I probably smell like cattle at this point--I wouldn't know...

Tractor Man have fun! It's fast paced and stressful, but it is worth it. I am on day 9 of being on the road and it is amazing to see that I can drive one of these. My two words of advice is listen to your instructors and start studying the pre trip the minute you get it. Above all good luck and hope to see you out here some day!!
