Awesome news, good for you. Persistence...pays off. Congratulations!
Odd coincidence that I finally get a minute to get back to TT and see your post about not joining Maverick lol. Anyway hate to see you won't be joining us but glad you're finally getting a start on your career. Best of luck to you mam
Flatie- Good for you!
Swift is huge so they have a lot of options and resources. Errol drives for Swift and has written a lot. Their 40 required backs during training is neat.
Your great attitude will serve you well. I'm sure you will work hard.
Congrats Flatie C. I am at my 3rd day at the Swift Phoenix Academy. It is awesome. We've been doing Straight Line Backing all day. Everyone here is very kind and helpful. I'm glad I made this choice. Good Luck!
Tractor Man
For food, Errol can bring in some of that BBQ. The little joint next to the Mt Olive Pilot.
Congrats Flatie! The Academy is actually in Memphis at the terminal. I'm in the middle of my first week here, so maybe I'll see you when you get in! Good luck!
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
I forgot to add...the hotel is the Holiday Inn in Memphis. It's pretty nice, and the rooms do have a mini fridge and a microwave. The fridge is really small though.
OLIVE BRANCH, Rob!
I think there are least three TT'ers at Swift/Memphis now.
I think I'll get to the terminal this Saturday 4/30 around noon. I'll post a better ETA on this thread when I'm sure.

Just want to say thank you so much TT for all the help that you gave me. I got a confirmation today from my recruiter for SWIFT Academy Millinton, TN that I will leave on saturday 10:45 am for oriemtation. As you know that my Maverick journey failed because they didn't let me know that my orientation date is not fixed that I may not leave or not last monday. I was frustrated really bad coz I quit my job already but I am glad that I have back up list that's waiting for me..
Yesterday went to get my DOT Physical , passed it with 20/20 vision , no urine , hearing , bone problem. Everything is normal including my blood pressure. So today, I went to DMV took my test ( General Knowledge , Airbrake , Combination , Double Triple Trailer and Tanker ) Passed everything just one test and my examiner was so impressed!!!
with out TT I high road training I don't think if I can pass my test. It helps a lot to pass it! For people who's trying to get permit I would like to suggest the High Road Training here on TT as ur study source. As long as you will read and study you will pass it with no problem!
It's just crazy that now I got a sure confirmation from other company , maverick called back and set me up for May Class. I'm not going there anymore.. I will go swift instead! Thanks Errol , brett and the rest of the team for giving me such advice not to give up.
This is just the begining of my journey!
Also if you have info for the academy at Millington I would love to hear it like if the hotel got Microwave and things where I can cook my food to save money :-) etc.
