Need advice from you all by tomorrow. I need to make a decision between Central Transport and Auto Zone distribution driver. Pros and Cons for each? Which is better in the long run? Thanks
I can't give you specific information, but I imagine Autozone is similar to Dollar General, where the driver has tight spots to back into and has to unload the truck at each stop. That's s lot of exercise.
Yea. auto zone job duties are delivering to their auto zone stores doing teams home weekly and central transport is ltl intrastate home daily. what do you think?
Refers to carriers that make a lot of smaller pickups and deliveries for multiple customers as opposed to hauling one big load of freight for one customer. This type of hauling is normally done by companies with terminals scattered throughout the country where freight is sorted before being moved on to its destination.
LTL carriers include:
The act of purchasers and sellers transacting business while keeping all transactions in a single state, without crossing state lines to do so.
Those are such wildly different jobs it's probably impossible for us to even recommend one over the other. It's really going to come down to the pay & benefits and your preferences for home time and job duties.
The one thing I'll offer is this - most people that drive for private fleets like Autozone or Walmart or Wegman's tend to really like it. It's a whole different world hauling your own company's freight than it is hauling freight for outside companies. So that's potentially a 'plus' for Autozone.
However, Central will get you home every night and that's a really big deal for some people.
I highly recommend speaking with drivers from Autozone and from that division of Central to see how they like the job and see what information you can get about it. That might help shed some light on the two opportunities.
