I'm new to the trucking business on the civilian side. Looking for a local company in the Richmond area to take on new hire in the tanker business. All my experience from my military side. But I did take a 160 hour class just to take. And great advice will be awesome

Look into Kenan Advantage Group. I live near Roanoke and see these trucks all the time. About 15 miles north of Roanoke on 460 there is a large gas "farm" where everyone loads up.

Also look on Indeed.com I saw some tanker jobs on there this morning. Search truck driver Virginia.

If you are still looking, you might want to check out Eagle Transport. My location hires out of the CDL school i went to.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
