Oh What A Day!!!.

So I wake up this morning at 12:30am cause I have a 6 stop load and the frst drop is at 3am. I hit snooze and wake up for real about 1am. Now I NEED a shower in the am or I'm not a nice person so being s though I'm 20 miles away I sprin across the parking lot, shower and am back in the truck by 1:34am to start a pretrip and get rolling. First 2 docks go off without a hitch. Then comes number 3:/ so there's 8 docs to the left and the last 4 docks are open only problem is there's no where to stretch a 53ft trailer out due to the mountains of snow and huge water tower thingy right next to them, so as luck would have it the first doc all. The way to left opens up. Now I can work with this, just gotta parrell across the parking lot ad work my magic:) No sooner do I start my truck does some jack*** in a fedex truck with a pup comes hauling butt into the parking lot and steals my spot! Now I'm mad! Like you could have swung your little pup in the corner? Really dude you see me over here driving a real truck:) So I have to 90 degrees jackknife in on my blindside:/ K get that done get unloaded now I'm off to the caves in Kansas City where I proceed to get stuck between a concrete boulder and the damn wall and it took 3 truck drivers, a dock boy and the supervisor of my delivery to get me unstuck! So then I head on out thinking I'm done for the day. Swear I had 4 deliverys today and 2 tomorrow but NO! My last ones in Topeka, KS today! Then one tommorrow, smdh. So I haul butt to Topeka. Get there andhave to go to 3 different buildings before I find the right one! (Note Reisers in Topeka has a whole bunch of buildings:/) So I get docked and get out to check that I'm flush against the doc on both sides and as I'm walking back almost get backed into by the jack*** next to me trying to dock. Did you not see me dude? So I run under my trailer and come out the otherside and stand in front my truck with my arms folded and a whole lotta attitude vibing only to see this jerk on his phone!!!! SMDH! Someone needs to tell this dude to CHECK HIS MIRRORS AND CONCENTRATE WHILE BACKING UP! So I'm sitting there rolling my eyes, my discontent obvious to a blind man and he's trying to smile at me. Like really get a life. So I go to wait in my truck cause I just. Want to drive to Junction City and shut down til the am where I make my last stop. So all the sudden I hearsirens! So I'm waititng to see a fire truck cause they just keep getting louder and louder but no firetruck? The worker tells me that's TORNADO SIRENS!!!! Somebody just shoot me now! And there you have it folks, your gonna all have days like today!

Oh you definitely get days like that, and all too often it seems in truckin. One of the worst things is thinking you're done and then suddenly realizing "Nope! Still gotta keep goin"

There are some things you'll never hear a trucker say. One of them is "Remember when trucking was easy???"

Yeah right!!!

Or "Wow, the general public really loves and appreciates us. Look! Another four wheeler went out of his way to help me out!!!"

Girl you have had a loooonnng day. Glad your safe from idiots and tornado's for the time being. And brett this girl with a 4wheeler kia spectra stops for a trucker. In my book they have the right of way. Then again I have been around them most of my adult life, and I am wanting to be one also.

Lordy what a day for you! I so hope I can do as well as you are doing considering all the adversity that you faced today! I can see I have sooooo much to learn, keep posting that is the best way I can know what to expect (which sounds like the unexpected) Travel Safe! Kathy

Wanna know the worst part of my day? I BROKE A FREAKING NAIL! Yep I really just said th=. The rest I can deal with but siting here knowing I can't get it fixed is buging the begesus out of me! I just got them done on Fri! Lol

I was kinda wondering about the shower thing, I understand that sometimes you just can't fit one in, but my hair is short and it has to be washed and dried or I look like a little ol' man, lol. Plus, I do like to put on my make up and look half way presentable! Is there time for that? Even now, I can shower and get made up in about 30 minutes, I don't primp forever or anything. Guess it is just a girl thing!

Kathy, I shower everyday, get my nails done every two weeks. Its called proper planning;) Sometimes I sacrifice eating and sleep but to me its worth being clean! Lol I'm a germaphobe so I can't be dirtty. I've been known to wash my hair in a bowl of water in the truck and rinse with a bottle of water.

What a day. Once again someone on here shows the professionalism and dedication that makes this site one of a kind. You dealt with the bs today and could have let it ruin the day instead pushed on and made it happen.b another lesson learned.

Thanks gentleman;) Im built tuff. Compared to somethings ive been thru trucking is a walk in the park;) Worst part of the day was my broken nail lol
