Where are you?
Where are you?
Right now I'm in Iowa headed to Texas tomorrow but I thought it would be cool to make a list aND keep it for future reference
1) I love going to the trucking museum at the Iowa 80 in Wolcott. 2) My wife and I like the Twin Arrows Casino on I-40 in Arizona, MM 219. Good food and nice bonuses for truckers 3) If you are interested in NASA, there is a really cool place in MS next to the Welcome Center at the border on I-10, the Infinity Science Center. You can park your truck right there in their parking lot, but I don't think they allow overnight, you would have to get back to the rest area. No biggie, it's right next door! 4) Next door to the Love's in Ellis, KS (I-70 exit 145) is the Cancun Mexican Grille. Hands down and without hyperbole the BEST Mexican food out there 5) The North South Cafe in Robards, KY (US-41) is amazing, for about $10 I had one of the best southern homestyle breakfasts in my life. It is family owned and operated, and the family really knows what they are doing.
Those are just a few off the top of my head...there are lots more, if you have the opportunity be sure to share them!
Twice now, I have rented a small car on my reset and drove into National Forest areas to hike. North Carolina, and Sedona AZ. I enjoy having a tiny vehicle for a day so I can go down all the non truck roads, and parking is a breeze!
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
No real experience yet but I am looking forward to doing a bit of fishing in different parts of the country. I did quite a bit while working in the oil fields. I'll likely have to rent a car, I just wish there was something like a national fishing license available. LOL!

I know the corvette museum has truck parking. Are there any good places you have taken your breaks? Casinos you found exciting? Historical spots with truck parking?
