Yes, that's possible. The reset is not a requirement. It's a tool a driver can utilize to get back a full 70 hour clock in the event you do not have enough hours available, including recaps, to cover a dispatched load.

The driver records the amount of time spent driving, on-duty not driving, in the sleeper berth, or off duty. You're right, there are no dumb questions. What you describe, a work week without a 34 hour reset, is what's called "running on recaps". It's a perfect acceptable way to run. Some people, like me, prefer it.

I'm sure this is a dumb question for most of you, but you know the saying, ..a dumb question it the one not asked. So here goes. If a driver is working an 8 day / 70 hr week, can he/she work 8.75 hrs 7 days a week without a break? Is the 34 hour reset a requirement each week?
