Driving Sick

Went home for my 3 days off, the wife had a cough now I have it, knowing I can't take day/night quill what are some remedies that some of you guys use, so far I have been treating myself with halls and hot soups but it's not working as fast as I would like to. Read some time ago that a driver cough him self uncounscious and had an accident, I'm not trying to get there, any advise on how to deal with this, thanks...out

This might sound silly but I've heard it works.... Put Vicks vapor rub on your feet and cover them with socks when you sleep.

I. Sick now too and did try dayquil which didn't work. I also tried a non drowsy allergy pill thinking it would clear up c9ngestion.... nope. Hot tea helped the throat a bit but not enough. Whhhaaaa. Lucky for me I got to my 90 a day early... but my next load wasn't ready for 12 hours AFTER the DDT so I got extra time to be miserable and not drive lol

Dry cough? Hot tea with honey and lemon will help soothe the lining of your throat and the honey is an antibacterial agent that will help if that's what causing it.

Coughing yucky stuff up? Use Mucinex if it doesn't make you drowsy. Get the kind with the highest amount of Guaifenesin in it as that will make your cough more productive. Try to avoid the Dextromethorphan as it can make you drowsy.

Also, try breathing in the steam from your hot soups which will help loosen up the yucky stuff and clear your sinuses.

Any cold remedy without alcohol is ok for the most part.

Bottom line is no matter what if you are unsafe to drive park it.
