I tend to use 2:1 fuel to DEF

What's that for? I fill my Freightliner 120 gallons fuel, get 3 gallons DEF. That's 40:1.

Diesel Exhaust Fluid. Made up of one third synthetic urea and two thirds deionized water, a fine mist of this solution is injected into the hot diesel exhaust to breakdown NOx into harmless water vapor. Stand next to a newer truck as it is running and you'll notice the lack of the pungent, eye irritating diesel exhaust odor.

Thanks G! thank-you.gif

Next stupid question. Is there a gauge inside the cab for that or do you just automatically refill that every time you get fuel?

Yes there is a gage for it next to the fuel gage in most semi trucks,...out

Not stupid questions. I'm from and never had to pump my own gas. Trainer got a kick out of that. One of my trainers had an older truck and didn't have DEF but the newer ones do. CA environmental laws are going to restrict trucks without it from enteri ng the state. At least that is what I was told. I'm sure someone can correct me

Geez, I never thought of that...in Jersey it's illegal to pump your own gas. That must have been an ah-ha moment. LOL. Funny thing is, most PA gas stations are self-serve, yet on average we pay 20 cents more per gallon than drivers do in Jersey.

Ca is talking about doing away with def, it's killing plants and trees on the side of the road I guess and there worried now about ground water poising. I can't seem to find the article right now to post a link from my phone.
