Trying to make a choice in a company. Can any new drivers give me a ballpark figure of how many miles they are getting per week for OTR driving. I know they aren't guaranteed but just trying to get some numbers in my head. Leaning towards Roehl Transport or Werner Enterprises but I would like as much info as I can get

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

Prime starts at 39.5 CPM in a full size truck or 44.5 CPM in a lightweight truck.

I'm new solo 3 mos with prime... have the full size truck at 39.5 cpm. Get about 2500 miles per week... have gotten 2900 several times.... usually around my hometime to help offset the loss of pay.

Okay, something else I haven't been aware of. What is this Lightweight and Heavyweight distinction between trucks and the CPM difference in pay?

Don't have a clue what this is about. confused.gif

When I started at Werner I was getting around 2200 a week, but as i gained some experience started averaging 3000 to 3200 a week

I started with roehl about 9 months ago and I have averaged 2.5k per week since I started. The last couple months my length of haul has been shorter but I'm still getting the same number of miles.

The last two weeks I have gotten 2500 miles but I haven't been running all that hard. If I was pushing it I could have easily been over 3000. And my DM will run me as hard as my clock will allow.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
