US 30 closed in Columbia City after 2 semis collide

us-30-wreckage.jpg?w=650"The driver of the stopped semi became pinned in his cab but was able to escape with burns to his shoulder and hand. Witnesses told NewsChannel 15 he leapt from the cab and yelled out, “I’m alive.” He was airlifted from the scene to a Fort Wayne hospital."

"The driver of the second semi told police he had fallen asleep before the crash. He was not hurt."

Glad the car hauler is all right. But, I don't think that he can scale the load or get permits for the height.

The other driver needs to find another line of work. There is absolutely no excuse for this to happen. People, you are responsible for your actions. If you are tired then get off the road.

With the way the ramps are configured I always thought it looked like you could drive right up on top of one of those car haulers if you were going fast enough and they were empty. Now we know you can. Check that off my list of what if's.

Just went through there the other day, I was wondering what the black spot on the road was from.
