SeanJ, check with your office before you drop your trailer and drive away. Many companies have strict policies about leaving a trailer unattended.

I should have clarified... my FM has me drop the trailer at my last customer the. Bobtail. He's also had me drop it at a yard then go home. I don't just go leaving trailers around the country lol

Bobtail:

"Bobtailing" means you are driving a tractor without a trailer attached.

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
