Thanks Scott, I appreciate it! Yeah, I'm just gonna try to decompress for a couple of days. It's just that I did everything I could to prepare. I came out of CDL school with the highest GPA (98.1) of all of the Stevens guys (They gave a separate recognition for the CRST guys, but I think I beat him too). And, so far, my training here was going fabulously until the doctor went all weird on me!! I have literally done all I can do and if that just isn't good enough, I don't know what else I can do...

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Worst case scenario, you go to the spot here where you can fill out one application for all companies. You take whichever job you can get and make the best of it. Many companies that don't hire newbies will hire with 6 to 9 months experience. Look some up and see for yourself. You will see that one year from now all this will be nothing.

Bit of an update: I just got a secure message from my doctor over the V.A.'s healthcare website this afternoon (very convenient and close communication with your doctor). I was very surprised that he is keeping up with my situation over the holiday weekend. His exact words: "That doctor down there REALLY put you in a very difficult position." Anyway, I have to call the V.A. down here in Dallas Tues. morning, and he is going to personally talk to the Neuro dept. in Denver on Tues. morning and between the two of us see when we can get the soonest appointment. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!
My God!!! If this works out, I will simply amazed and astounded!! Don't know just what else to think!

Awesome. Things are looking good.

Well, I did my best to take everyone's advice and just chill out for the past three days. I read the last third of the book I was already reading and then two more, a Michael Connely and a Clive Cussler. A little over 1200 pages and as always, it was very relaxing and not only did I enjoy it, but it kept my mind off of things for the most part.......well, kinda-sorta. I REALLY need to get a Kindle or something. It would probably pay for itself in short order, as I love to read. Anyway..........
Recap: I am scheduled to start the next orientation tomorrow morning, but I also have to call the V.A. and talk to the recruiter lady who is covering for the head recruiter while he is gone this week. Not sure, though, why they are putting me in another orientation class before anything new has been found out about an appointment as I cannot get in a truck until then. I will be trying to get an immediate appointment down here in Dallas while my doctor is trying to get me one in Denver. We will, of course, take whichever one is the soonest which of course might mean me driving back to Denver in a hurry.
At this point, I just don't know whether I can hold out for Stevens from a money standpoint. Also, it has been my experience that anytime I have tried to force anything to go the way I wanted it to (like being set on Stevens), it has not worked out for the best. Add to that all of the conditions on the school contract and financing and something that was supposed to be so straightforward and simple, could now be anything BUT simple!! How long does the school have to wait before they start hassling me for money, etc.? How long will Stevens wait for some results before they just cut me loose? Because if that happens, it is my understanding that my whole school tuition becomes due immediately in a lump sum!!!
I may have no choice but to look at other companies, just from a financial standpoint and then at that point. I feel like I have once again, lost complete control of a very important situation and will likely be forced into a much less than optimal position.

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
Not sure how to respond to that. Try calling the school and explaining the situation to see if they will work with you. Outside of that it sounds like you can't get blood from a turnip. ;) See what tomorrow brings and enjoy the Fourth.

Yeah, he really is great, but he told me that he's retiring soon. Sometime this year, I think.
Okay, I also have a bit of an update on my med hold. A nurse from the Denver V.A. called me this afternoon and they are going to try to get me in to see someone at the North Texas V.A. here in Dallas. He sent the notification in this afternoon, but it was too late for him to talk to anyone down here as they are an hour ahead and had already gone home for the weekend. And naturally the 4th is this weekend so that stretches it out an extra day. I have to call them first thing Tuesday morning and explain the situation to the neuro dept. and see when they can get me in.
So, I related all of this to the recruiter and he got me back in the company motel for until Tuesday anyway. Hopefully I'll get some good news then!! If not, I think they're going to send me home to Colorado. At that point, I don't know just what I'll do, but I will have to look into other options as I gave up my rental house there and don't have a job there. I guess I'll have to talk to Swift and Prime and see what they say about this. I'm not giving up on Stevens yet, but I do realize that I may have no choice other than to change my plans.
This being in limbo stuff really sucks!!!!!
