Eckoh, you are a Johnny wadder? I graduated Charleston 1993 myself. Trying my best to get out of restaurants(for 2nd) time. Running into a few hurdles but I'm hoping to get there. Where did you go and when did u graduate?

I graduated with my second degree in 2003. I got my culinary arts degree from Norfolk VA and got the entrepreneurship degree from Providence. I was actually in the last class for the entrepreneurship degree. It was hurting their graduation percentage too hard, less then 30% of the people going for it failed to graduate, of the 35 in my "class" only 13 managed to pass. I was told in the 5 years they offered that degree only 55 people managed to get it, so its kinda pointless in the real world now even though it was the one best suited for actually opening and running places not just managing them.

I opened and sold 5 places in the following years then got out of the business when family got ill, when they passed i desided to get into trucking as i pretty much hate people now and i do not have to interact with many with this job :D

Oh I do so agree on the hating people part. I have a chance to open my own and could give a flying $$&&. I am so over the new breed of restaurant people etc. I was blind ten years ago when I left trucking and got back in the biz. Trucking is stressful, but a different stress from running a restaurant. Truckers can be grumpy, mean, nice, helpful, and brutally honest. I was always content w trucking and the lifestyle, I just let the simple crap get to me. Also I couldn't adjust my mindset from the go go go of restaurant industry. My impatience got ahead of me. I wanted to get "backing into a hole m" immediately. No patience. " A la minute " If I get the "do over" I'm going to be patient relax and master the art of trucking.good-luck-2.gifdancing-banana.gif

Well we did get some good news today. We ended up having to go to the ER yesterday because hubbys Doctor wasn't in the office and he was completely out of meds. ER stabilized him and gave him enough meds to get to his appointment today.

We went to his appointment this afternoon and everything went just fine. Doctor was completely understanding about the situation and got all of his meds filled. He is doing sooo much better now and we are all set to go. We will be able to stay out for two months solid this time.

I talked to dispatch this morning and Teddy will be done on Friday. So we are going to be on one more bus back to Nebraska to pick him up and FINALLY get back on the road.

Our only problem at this point is finding a way back to Springfield to get on the bus. I called the only cab company nearby and they said it would be between $2-250 to go to Springfield. I still have another person to talk to about a ride.

I've been worried about our cell phone bill and how I was going to pay it but my grandmother donated $200 to our gofundme account which took care of that! We've had some serious blessings from several people, both friends/family and strangers alike.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
