Like the others said. Apply online, it's the only way. Don't be afraid of your application getting lost. They'll see it and they'll call if they're interested in you. But even if they're not calling you need to be calling them daily. Let them know you want it. Bug them until they give in.

Thanks for the tips Dan. Will do.

I keep to myself. No one bothers me, plus I always exercise my 2nd amendment rights. Thanks for the heads up though.

Are you going to school out here or have you already gone? AGS is a great school, tough as hell, but great training.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

I'm not an expert but be careful with concealed carry. There are different laws in different states and I would imagine most employers have a policy about weapons in the truck. Take this with a grain of salt, but definitely look into it before you go ahead and bring it along.

I mean I exercise my rights in the state of Nevada where I’m a resident. Driving a truck interstate is a different ballgame entirely. I wouldn’t carry a gun in a truck unless I was 100% legal, understood the laws in every state I would be visiting, and had the blessing of my company, but thanks for the heads up.

Interstate:

Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).

Nevada has some of the best pro gun laws around.... if you are stupid and chose to let the bad guys know who you are you can open carry.

Great Answer!

Of course bad guys might choose not to attack someone who is carrying a gun and may instead try for someone who isn't? I'm not much of a bad guy, but I'm a pretty smart guy, and if I was going to attack someone I would prefer they didn't have a gun. In fact I dare say that attacking someone who does not have a gun would be high on my list of things that are important to my bad guy career. It's called Deterrence.

Anyhow Jeff1000 we have an awesome listing of Truck Driving Jobs for you to apply to. When you get to that page, you'll also see an option to apply to as many companies as you like with just one application.

I would simply rifle off applications to every company imaginable and then start calling them after about two days. Keep calling until you get someone on the phone and you know they're processing your application, otherwise it might just sit on a pile collecting dust.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Hi Brett, sorry, I didn’t want to get into a gun debate and sorry I mentioned it actually. I was just trying to assure Aces-N-eights that I can defend myself if need be, and besides, it’s very quiet where I live and I feel very safe here, and no, I don’t open carry. Why draw attention to yourself?

Anyway, I got the picture on the application process and it’s awesome that your site makes it as easy as possible to apply. I will gratefully take advantage of it. Thank you for your reply, and nice talking to you again.

Just to add, it does seem curious that companies supposedly need drivers yet an applicant has to keep nudging them to consider your application???
