Good Luck and you will do fine! Like I said if you have any questions just ask! And one more Tip...they don't serve late dinner, when you check in at the inn, to your right (when your facing the counter) will be a refrigerator with a good free meal in it or next door is a burger stand.
Brought my laptop. They won't let you do your cbt's in your room now.
Are you serious! What are they keeping track of you guys or what? cant access them through you email? Same link you used to fill out your orientation forms.
Well I asked. They said I couldn't and they are keeping track. Just don't want to get sent home. I completed over half cbts anyway. The room is open at all times until 11:00 pm no big deal.
Dutch,
I just got my CDL-A and will be starting with Prime on 1/4/17 in Pittston, PA. I have Tanker and D/T endorsements. Also have passport and TWIC is in the mail. I'm seriously considering Tanker. Have you heard any positive feedback regarding Tanker division? Also, will I go straight into the TNT program??
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.
The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.
The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14ยข per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience and insight at prime. You've definitely helped me and others prepare for what's coming as I am taking the bus out there tomorrow. I'm ready to test right now for my permit + tanker. I plan on getting hazmat soon, but studying and learning hazmat just seems like a lot to accomplish in just a few days. Phew!!! I just want to make sure I don't screw anything up. I quit my apprentice lineman job to start this new career path
