I got a letter today stating that Hireright is declaring bankruptcy and I can be part of a class action lawsuit against them. Anybody else? Any thoughts?

Oh and the letter did say if I sign onto the class action I could be awarded a whopping $47.00. WOW

We talked about this in a similar thread a while back...

Any lawyers on this forum or anyone who could shed some light?

OS, I have already tossed the paperwork in the trash. It read that I may qualify for a $200 payment, while noting the lawyers are getting $600,000 and expenses. I was not inquiring about bleeding anyone, just asking if anyone had more info.

So what happens with DAC now (LOL).

You can bet they'll do a reorganization, and sell DAC to some newly formed shell corp.

DAC:

Drive-A-Check Report

A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).

It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.

Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.

Bill, I didn't think you were wanting to bleed anybody. I just think it's comical when lawyers do this kind of thing. They are the sole beneficiaries, yet they work these letters in such a way to lure people in to their ploy. You posed the question "Any thoughts?" Those were my thoughts. They weren't directed maliciously at you. I've had people owe me some pretty big money that declared bankruptcy - I never saw a penny of it.

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Hey, $47 is still $47, I'd take it. If not me, someone else is gonna get it.

So what is the grievance of the the class action petitioners?
