Hello all, Im sure this question has had the life beaten out of it, but I am desperate and need help. I am currently in the Army, been active for 5 years, I will be getting out soon and have already applied to TMC and received a hiring letter. I disclosed all this information to my recruiter, and she assured me I was okay, just to not get any more. With that said, I have two speeding tickets within the last 3 years, Not sure of the speed of the first one, If I had to assume i would say 12 over, the second one however i just got and it was 16 over. My question is, A) will I be able to get my CDL in Missouri with these two on my record? I have done research but cant seem to find the right answer. And B), Will this prevent me form working at a company like TMC or another carrier? Any help is really appreciated. Thanks!

  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.

It is hard to say. Call the recruiter and see, also don't just limit yourself to them. There is a lot of companies out here.

I can't speak for every company but I had 2 speeding tickets in the same year, November 2014 speeding 20 over & December 2014 speeding 10 over. I haven't gotten another one since then & I was hired on By Swift Transportation in February 2016. So I'm sure it may vary by company but not impossible. Good Luck! good-luck.gif

You can certainly get your CDL. Some companies won't be willing to hire you with those tickets but a lot of them will. We always recommend applying to as many companies as possible and see who will give you an opportunity. Then you know what your options are and you can decide which company suits you best.
