Can someone tell me a great company with Midwest accounts that can get me home on the weekends possibly an willing to let someone with 4months experiance work?!
Try JB HUNT out of Chicago. I just started doing Intermodal with them. Pays well, home 2 days a week. You can pick Sunday, Monday or Friday, Saturday
Transporting freight using two or more transportation modes. An example would be freight that is moved by truck from the shipper's dock to the rail yard, then placed on a train to the next rail yard, and finally returned to a truck for delivery to the receiving customer.
In trucking when you hear someone refer to an intermodal job they're normally talking about hauling shipping containers to and from the shipyards and railyards.
Many companies including my own offers a Midwest regional home weekly gig including mine. My company (west side transport) requires you to be fresh out of school or have 6 months verifiable OTR experience.
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Try J&R Schugel. They run all over the country, but you can tell them what you want and they will do the best they can. I know 1 person had 3 months experience and was in my orientation class. I also know they have some people working only weekends for local stuff. call the recruiter and explain what you need, see what they say. http://www.jrschugel.com
I see your from Illinois. Any reason you don't call Roehl. They have a terminal in Gary Indiana and are constantly running freight in the Midwest. Good hometime programs too. They have everything posted on their website...see if they are hiring in your area...check their website. Good luck.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Also try Schneider, Crete Carriers, if your near Chicago, you can also try a local home daily with Moran Transportation
