That sucks. I hope you're all getting detention/layover pay.

Me too, might message and ask about that. It stinks but I'll make it through!

And suddenly my 3hr wait on a load doesn't seems so bad... Although the laugh I got when my DM forgot I had been detained for those three hours and asked me why I was running so late and my reply was "loaded three hours late and this is a Frieghtliner not a magic carpet".

Definitely haha. I hate when I get loaded late and they ask if I'm gonna be on time. It's like you guys know the answer. The worse is when doing a repower and they expect you to still make the time. Like you said it's a freightliner not a magic carpet haha.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Add me to the list of long waits to get home. And here I thought my new DM was really worried about this truck sitting too long. I got a load home to So Cal from Salt Lake on Friday afternoon but it doesn't deliver until Monday at 0700. I told her I could easily be there Saturday evening and she said we could probably tcall it. I asked to be dispatched to the JV terminal this morning and weekend dispatch says I have to deliver it. At least I'm stuck in Las Vegas, so I'm sure I'll find something to do. LOL

I just came off of hometime, was on it last week so I want to run. The week leading up to hometime was nothing but sit and wait. Hope this month doesn't end up being an unproductive one. Good thing I saved my money.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Thing is if they'd let me drop it at the terminal , I'd be done with HT and ready to go on Wednesday morning. Since I have to sit and wait I won't be ready Friday. Basically the entire week is wasted. Oh well I guess they know what's best. What do I know I'm just the newbie. LOL
